Om communityn

I created Over the Lines because I know how exciting — and sometimes confusing — it can be to build a career in illustration. How do you find your own visual voice? How do you approach publishers? How do you build a strong portfolio? How do you work with authors and art directors? How do you find opportunities and actually make a living from your work? I’ve asked myself all of these questions too. I’m Iya Voinich, a children’s book illustrator and character designer, working with publishers and authors internationally. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot through projects, mistakes, experiments, rejections, and the moments when something finally worked. And I want to share that experience here. INSIDE OVER THE LINES 🎨 Lessons on illustration and visual storytelling 📚 Picture books, portfolios and working with publishers ✏️ Developing your own visual language 💬 Talks, Q&As and honest conversations 🌱 Creative challenges and projects 🤝 A place to meet and connect with other illustrators ✨ Inspiration, feedback and support This isn’t about following one formula or trying to draw like someone else. It’s about finding your own way of telling stories through images — and having a community around you while you do it. Come in, take a look around, and let’s go a little Over the Lines together.
